Charity Ball 2015 benefitting MaxLove Project

Written by The Athenian Print The evening of Thursday, November 5 sparked something larger than just another annual Charity Ball at the Mount. This year, Student Government Association hosted Charity Ball at the Chalon campus to benefit MaxLove Project. With much success and support, all that was raised went to the grassroots nonprofit organization. Here is a compilation of content recapping the memorable evening.

Are you ready for this year’s Charity Ball?

Written by Cindy Carrillo, President This Thursday, November 5, is Mount Saint Mary’s annual Charity Ball. Every year, an organization is nominated and all proceeds collected during the ball will be donated to the organization selected. This year will be the Max Love Project, which was founded in 2011 and inspired by eight-year-old SuperMax Wilford who is battling brain cancer. “We empower families fighting childhood cancers and related life-threatening conditions with quality of life care, fierce foods, whole-body wellness resources, education and research. We believe that true health starts when families are empowered to be active partners in their child’s healing.” -MaxLove Project via Facebook  Tickets can be purchased beforehand until Wednesday, November 4th in the SGA/Women’s Leadership and Student Involvement Office for $10, or at the door for $12. Charity Ball a success, raises over $3,000

The 2014 Disney-themed Charity Ball at Mount St. Mary’s College helped raise over $3,500 for United Friends of the Children (UFC), a nonprofit organization that serves current and former foster youth in Los Angeles County to continue their care and support. The Italian food, donations, and classic, elegant attire, were not the only visible things on the evening. Every attendee’s energy and support were just as noticeable. The MC’s began the event with a warm welcoming and then introduced Ian Ryen, the Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager of UFC. He briefly spoke about the organization and finished off on a thank you note. “Thank you so much for having us. We are really appreciative of all that you’ve done and all of the money you’ve raised for this amazing cause,” Ryen said. Charity Ball 2014: the who, what, when, and where

Who: Each year, Mount St. Mary’s College’s Chalon Student Activities Council hosts a Charity Ball as a way to bring the Mount Community together in solidarity for a worthy cause. What: Charity Ball is a formal dinner and auction in which students, staff, and professors work to raise money to benefit a cause close to the college. There will be dinner, performances by dance clubs on campus, a silent auction, Disney photo booth, and a raffle to win a pair of Disneyland tickets!
