Happy Kobe Bryant Day!
To all Laker fans and most importantly Kobe fans: welcome to the first ever annual Kobe Bryant Day. The City of Los Angeles announced on Monday that August 24th will now be known as “Kobe Bryant Day” to honor the black mamba’s success and dedication to the Lakers basketball team.
August 24th was chosen to honor his two jerseys: 8 and 24. He started off his career with the Lakers as #8 and later switched to #24. Regardless of which jersey he wore, he remained dominant on the basketball court.
Let’s take a flashback. Kobe scored a high of 60 points in his final game. He was also the first player in NBA history to have scored 60 points in his final game with a team.
Because of all his amazing accomplishments, Los Angeles will have the opportunity to celebrate, acknowledge, salute, and thank Kobe Bryant for his faithful 20-year commitment to the Lakers organization.
Thank you, Mamba! How will you celebrate Kobe Bryant Day?
