Written by Cindy Carrillo, President and Liz Charre, Staff Writer

During Tuesday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants at the AT&T Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to defeat their rivals with an 8-0 final score. As the Dodgers are now the NL West Division Champions, their vision in the postseason is taking the overall championship title.

The Giants, however, had a tough task out in front of them facing the reigning NL MVP and Cy Young Award Winner, Clayton Kershaw. Dominating the entire game, Kershaw struck out 13 Giants and only allowed one hit in a solid nine innings. This sparked his fourteenth shutout of his career, five of them came when facing the Giants. The Dodgers are heading into their third straight postseason appearance and their third division win in a row, something the franchise has never done. Dodger fans filled the bay area seats and cheered for their favorite players who will appear in October.

Now as the Dodgers are into the postseason they will have a tough match ahead of them. They will face the New York Mets, who are making their first postseason appearance in nine years. As the Mets continue their miraculous season, the Dodgers will have their work cut out for them. During the regular season, the Dodgers trail the Mets series 4-3 however, the postseason will be something completely different and will keep fans at the edge of their seats.

As of now the LA team will enjoy the end of the regular season and will start preparing for what the postseason has in store for them. The Dodger’s homepage, Twitter, and Instagram all went to posting pictures and videos of their celebration. For fans who were unable to attend the game, their support was shown and seen all throughout social media. Floating throughout these past few days was #Onewin since one win was all the Dodgers needed to secure their position for the playoffs. The new hashtag of the month is #LALovesOctober. Stay tuned for more details regarding the boys in blue and remember, the postseason begins October 6.
