Charity Ball: “When You Wish Upon a Star” is less than a week away!
Who: Each year, Mount St. Mary’s College’s Chalon Student Activities Council hosts a Charity Ball as a way to bring the Mount Community together in solidarity for a worthy cause.
What: Charity Ball is a formal dinner and auction in which students, staff, and professors work to raise money to benefit a cause close to the college. There will be dinner, performances by dance clubs on campus, a silent auction, Disney photo booth, and a raffle to win a pair of Disneyland tickets!
Where: Mount St. Mary’s College, Chalon Campus, Campus Center
When: Thursday October 23, 2014 at 6:00pm
Why: All proceeds will benefit United Friends of the Children (UFC). UFC is a nonprofit organization serving current and former foster youth in Los Angeles County. Through its transitional housing and education programs, UFC helps foster children develop skills to become successful young adults.
United Friends of the Children empowers current and former foster youth on their journey to self-sufficiency through service-enriched education and housing programs, advocacy, and consistent relationships with a community of people who care. By building relationships with adolescents over an extended period, UFC’s programs focus on commitment and consistency, addressing the single, most critical emotional need for foster children. With the proper support and guidance, a job, and a place to live, former foster youth can make a successful transition to adulthood.
How you can help: Purchase tickets next week! Tickets are $10 for students (including non-MSMC students) and $15 for guests. You can also purchase tickets to enter a raffle to win one pair of Park Hopper tickets to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure or one pair of Disneyland tickets. Raffle tickets are $10 each. Tickets are being sold next week (Oct. 20-23) in the Circle from 12-2pm and in the Women’s Leadership Office at Doheny and Chalon. All proceeds benefit the United Friends of the Children.
Can’t make the event? You can still donate here.
Hope to see you all there!
